Good Morning Arbour Vista Families,

Soon we'll be welcoming the warmth and beauty of spring.  As we say goodbye to the lingering rain/snow, let's look forward to the arrival of a new season. Spring symbolizes growth, renewal, and transformation, filling our days with blooming flowers and fresh greenery.  We have a lot planned for this spring.  Please take a few moments to read through this week’s message.

Kiss and Ride

For the safety of our students and to keep traffic flowing smoothly, please do not park in the Kiss and Ride lane or stop for long periods of time. This area is for quick drop‑off and pick‑up only. If you need to park and walk your child to the school, kindly use the designated parking lot. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.

Faith Days During April

Acknowledging and celebrating days of faith is an important aspect of many religious traditions and cultures. Different faiths have their own holy days, festivals, and observances that hold significance for their followers. During the month of April, please see the days that will be acknowledged and celebrated by some members of our school community. Please note that there is diversity within faith communities and that no one list can represent all faith traditions or observances.

Summer Programming: Continuing Education

For UGDSB Summer School 2026, a French Immersion Reach Ahead course is being offered to Grade 8 students looking to earn a high school credit before entering secondary school in September:

  • GLS1OF - Learning Strategies: Skills for Success in Secondary School - French Immersion

  • Registration is currently open in myBlueprint.

  • Online learning (asynchronous) courses run from June 29th- July 24th.

The GLS1OF French Immersion course is an opportunity for grade 8s entering into a French Immersion program in secondary school to earn an additional FI credit.

Please note: Students registering in Grade 8 Reach-Ahead courses will be required to complete an additional pre-registration Google Form with parents/caregivers, to review the expectations for online Summer School courses. The form is available on MyBlueprint in the Reach-Ahead course description and in the Guidance message once students select the course. Students who do not complete this form will not be registered for a Grade 8 Reach-Ahead course.

Additional Information around summer programming through Continuing Education continues to be updated on the Continuing Education website. Please refer to the website for the most current information and updates.
