Hello Arbour Vista families,
As spring arrives, it's great to see our students and school community thriving. These days it seems to be best to dress in layers. Sometimes the weather can take a turn part way during the day. Please remind your children to pick up their coats etc..if they take them off during recess to avoid losing them. Families are always welcome to check the lost and found for missing items. It is situated outside of the main office.

Wear Pink on Wednesday April 8
Every year, on the second Wednesday of April, people around the world are urged to put on a pink shirt and stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to continue fighting for equality and acceptance. Discrimination takes many shapes, whether it’s based on race, age, disabilities, gender or sexuality.
Child Abuse Prevention- Erin’s Law
The Upper Grand District School Board places a high priority on student safety and well-being. As part of this commitment, our school follows the Child Abuse Prevention Policy, which supports creating safe and caring environments for all students.
During this month, students will participate in age-appropriate lessons focused on:
Understanding different forms of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual abuse, and neglect)
Identifying trusted adults
Knowing how and where to get help
These lessons are designed to support student safety and awareness. We encourage families to talk with their child about what they are learning.

Message from Council-Family Fun Night Planning
We are excited to be planning our upcoming Family Fun Night which will take place on May 28th from 5:30–7:30 PM, and we would love your support to help make the event a success!
This year’s event will feature an inflatable obstacle course, a DJ and bubble party, class basket door prize draws, visits from police, ambulance, and fire services, a Scholastic Book Fair, Plant Sale, food, and much more. It’s shaping up to be a fun-filled evening for our entire school community.
To help bring everything together, we are looking for volunteers to assist with:
Event set-up
Running activity stations during the event
Clean-up afterward
If you’re available to help in any capacity, we kindly ask that you complete the Google Form and indicate your availability. Even a small amount of time makes a big difference and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support- we couldn’t do this without our amazing families!
Grad Re-takes
Thursday April 16th, Arbour Vista will be the host school for Pegasus Grad Retakes. If your Grade 8 students require retakes, please make sure they come to school Thursday morning wearing their white shirts and smile.
