Good Morning Arbour Vista families,

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached our final weekly update for May! This time of year is always busy, so please take a moment to review the information below and stay up to date on important deadlines and upcoming events.

Let’s finish the month strong as we look ahead to the excitement of our Family Fun Fair this Thursday evening!

GRADE 6 EQAO

Our Grade 6 students will begin their EQAO testing on Monday May 25th. The students will participate in 2 blocks of testing Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Please  try to avoid being late or booking appointments between 9:00am -12:00pm, to mitigate distractions and interruptions. We know students will do an awesome job!

FUN FAIR

Our Family Fun Fair is fast approaching. It’s hard to believe that it is happening THIS THURSDAY, May 28th from 5:30pm -7:30pm.  We cannot wait to see you all.

Pizza and Samosa orders are now closed, but there will be snacks on site for any additional orders.

Activities and entertainment include:

  • Live DJ entertainment from Professor Jamz

  • A blow-up obstacle course and lawn games (fun for all ages!)

  • Visits from the Guelph Fire Department, Police, and Ambulance

  • Guelph Public Library

  • The always-popular Scholastic Book Fair

  • Our EAV Plant Sale

We are also very excited to feature our Basket Draw! Over the past several weeks, classes have been working together to create themed baskets. When you arrive, your child can pick up draw tickets to use toward the basket draw, which will take place at 7:15 PM that evening.

We look forward to seeing you there for a wonderful night of community connection and celebration!

TERRA COTTA COOKIE PICK UP

Reminder: Due to last week’s Terra Cotta outage, cookie pick‑up has been rescheduled for today, May 25th between 2:00–5:00 p.m. Thank you for your patience!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

We are excited to announce an EAV Scholastic Book Fair on Thursday, May 28th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the gym during the Family Fun Night.

Funds raised through this book fair will help the school purchase new books, literacy resources and enhance our home reading program.

Credit, Debit and Cash will be accepted.

PETS

To help ensure the safety and comfort of all students, staff, and visitors, we ask that families please refrain from bringing pets onto school grounds during the school day, including at arrival and dismissal times. While many pets are friendly and well-loved, interactions between unfamiliar people and animals can sometimes lead to unpredictable behaviour.

In addition, we ask families to remind children not to approach or pet animals they do not know, even if they appear calm. This helps us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

GARDENING CLUB

The Gardening Club has been working hard to have their plants ready for sale at the Family Fun Fair.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to purchase some plants for your gardens! Funds will go towards supporting garden maintenance.

LOST & FOUND

All items in the lost and found will be packed up and donated at the end of the week.

PA DAY

Please be reminded that June 5th is a PA Day for staff. As a result, there is no school for students. Please see the attached agenda for staff.

Have a great week
