Hello Arbour Vista families!
Welcome to the June edition of our school newsletter!
Faith Days During June
Acknowledging and celebrating days of faith is an important aspect of many religious traditions and cultures. Different faiths have their own holy days, festivals, and observances that hold significance for their followers. During the month of June, please see the days that will be acknowledged and celebrated by some members of our school community. Please note that there is diversity within faith communities and that no one list can represent all faith traditions or observances.
*Please note that we acknowledge that June is Pride Month, Italian Heritage Month, National Indigenous History Month, Portuguese Heritage Month, World Environment Day, World Day Against Child labour, National Indigenous Peoples Day, National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism, Canadian Multiculturalism Day and other significant dates during the Month of June. These are not included on the chart above, as they are not days of faith/religious holidays.
Family Fun Fair
We sincerely thank our School Council and all of the parent volunteers for the incredible work that went into organizing the Family Fun Fair. It was a fantastic event, and it was wonderful to see so many families coming together and enjoying the day. Moments like these truly highlight the strong sense of community we are so fortunate to have. This event would not have been possible without the time, effort, and dedication of our volunteers. Thank you for creating such a special and memorable experience for everyone!

Pride Month

As we celebrate Pride Month, we stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in recognition of their resilience, courage, and contributions to our society. This month is a time to honor the progress made toward equality and to reaffirm our commitment to fostering an inclusive and accepting world for all individuals regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. Let us continue to amplify 2SLGBTQIA+ voices, advocate for equal rights, and celebrate the diverse tapestry of human experiences. Happy Pride Month!

Within this website there is support on the following topics:
How to create a parent portal account
How to access report cards
A list of links to schools report card websites

ACTION: Nutrition Conversations - June Newsletter from WDGPH
Childhood is a time of learning and growing. Children are starting to explore new foods and learn how to listen to their bodies. The words adults use to talk about food can affect how children feel about eating and themselves. Please take a look at the linked document for helpful language around nutrition for younger students: Nutrition - Elementary
Teens are starting to make more of their own food choices. They may choose snacks, make simple meals, or buy food when they are out. The way adults talk about food can help or make this harder. Please take a look at the linked document for helpful language around nutrition for older students: Nutrition - Secondary
PA DAY
Please be reminded that June 5th is a PA Day for staff. As a result, there is no school for students. Please see the attached
