Hello Arbour Vista families,
We had an incredible week at school, highlighted by our annual Terry Fox Walk! It was truly heartwarming to see so many of our students out and active, coming together to honor a true Canadian hero, Terry Fox. The enthusiasm and spirit displayed were inspiring, and we are proud of everyone’s efforts in supporting such a meaningful cause.
We look forward to seeing families who are able to attend our School Open House on Thursday, September 26 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to connect, explore the school, and engage with teachers and staff.

INTERNATIONAL WALK/WHEEL TO SCHOOL MONTH
The Upper Grand District School Board is participating in International Walk/Wheel to School month this October as well as IWALK Day (Wednesday, October 2, 2024). As part of this month, we are encouraging students and staff to walk, wheel or roll to and from school throughout the month, where able and where it is safe to do so.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Good attendance and punctuality are essential to maximize school achievement and are good habits to develop later in life. Attendance is taken in the morning and afternoon of each school day. Students are marked absent if they are not in class on time. Students arriving late must check in at the office so that the office attendance register can be amended to show a late arrival. Students arriving on a late bus will not be marked late.
KISS AND RIDE/ BIKES
Thank you for not parking in our Kiss and Ride Zone and having students exit from the right side of the car. This allows for less congestion and a smoother drop off in the morning. Please remember that bikes must be walked on school property to avoid collisions.
FOOD GUIDELINES
Celebrating special events and occasions at school is a great way to create a positive atmosphere. Please consider celebrating with non-food items such as pencils, stickers, books, puzzles, or board games. Food items come with risks for our students with life-threatening food allergies or medical conditions. To reduce the risk to students, only pre-planned and office approved food items, with listed ingredients will be distributed in class.
OPEN HOUSE
Our school Open House will be held on Thursday September 26th from 5:30-7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to come see the school, introduce yourself and allow your child(ren) to show you what they have been working on for the first few weeks.
PIZZA DAYS
Pizza orders are now available for purchase on Cash Online until September 25th. Don’t miss out on this delicious opportunity! Please note that no late orders will be accepted, so be sure to get your orders in before the deadline.
