EJPS Week at a Glance (Sep 15-19)
Chers parents,
We just finished our first eight days of school and your child’s learning journey is off to a great start. Thank you for all you do in supporting their learning and working in partnership with your child’s teacher. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact them directly. As you have read in my previous email messages, classroom organizations are temporary until they are approved by the District Staffing Committee in the second week of school. This year, we had to move 6 students and three out of twelve classes were impacted. It was by no means an easy task, however, through teamwork and cooperation by staff, students, and parents our new classes will be up and running as of this coming Monday. We believe that each of these classroom communities are in good shape and will help all children bloom. Thank you everyone for your trust and support!
Our school will be participating in the Terry Fox Walk again this year on Friday September 19th during the middle block. In the event of inclement weather, our rain date will be Monday September 22nd. We will be completing our walk throughout the neighbourhood community. We would like to encourage all students to help raise funds for this worthy cause. Did you know that in the 25+ years that EJ has participated in the Terry Fox run, we have raised an incredible $30,808?! Wow! Let's keep our momentum going!
Last year we raised an amazing $4,033! This year, our school goal is $3,000. “Toonies for Terry” on the day of the walk are always gratefully accepted, however, please consider donating via our secure school fundraising website: https://schools.terryfox.ca/107783 Please ensure that your child has comfortable walking shoes and is dressed for the weather on our walk date. We are encouraging students to wear RED, in honour of Terry Fox as a Canadian hero. Teachers will reach out to their families if they’d like any extra hands of support for the walk.
Here are some messages from Mme McLeod in the office:

Office Snack Apples:
Generally we have a supply of apples for those students who have had an extra hungry day and need an extra bit of food. During these past two weeks as we get back into routines we have noticed that lots of students are eating more than you think and visiting the office for extra snacks, please pack a few extra items for their lunch.
End of Day Procedures:
IF your students' End of Day Procedures change at all during the day or week please notify the office ASAP via email or phone call.
Here are a few reminders:

Important! There are cameras around the exterior and throughout the school hallways which act as deterrents to those thinking about damaging our school property as well as evidence in case we need to investigate any issues. You will notice there are stickers on our school doors indicating that there is video surveillance.
