EJPS Week at a Glance (May 19-22)
Chers parents,
Today is CYC and EA Appreciation Day. The parents, staff and students cannot express enough gratitude for the very important work that our three highly skilled support staff provide our community. Mme Dokis, Mme Fudger, and Mme Topping are instrumental in ensuring safety and support for our most vulnerable students and those who need some extra assurance from time to time. Every day they proactively work to ensure students are settled and supported, but are also ready to turn on a dime to help deescalate any tense moments. We are in awe of your skills and enduring patience!
We have a busy and short four day week ahead! First, all three FDK classes will have their first field trips this coming week, then on Friday we will have our EJ Junior Track Day. Mme Ammon sent information last week requesting volunteers and providing details about events. Our Grade 3 and Grade 6 students will start practicing for EQAO. The following Friday will end with a bang, when our whole school will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart organized by Mme Roberts.Students are encouraged to fundraise either online or in person for this worthy cause. Money raised by schools across the country will go toward important heart and brain research that can help save lives.
Edward Johnson has a Jump Rope website set up, https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/87745 . If you prefer, you can collect cash donations and send them to school on May 30th. Here is a link to the offline pledge form: https://www.heartandstroke.ca/-/media/jump/jump-pledge-form.pdf
Until May 31, any donation will have double the impact thanks to Jon and Jill Faber, trailblazing champions in heart health research, who will be matching Jump Rope for Heart donations until their gift of $50,000 is reached.
At the end of May and beginning of June, our Grade 3 and 6 students will be participating in EQAO assessments. Please avoid booking appointments around those days if your child is in Grade 3 or 6 so we can ensure our students are all present and on time in the morning to write the tests. We took class and club and team pictures outside this week. Mme Forbes & Mme Stolfi have been working hard all year towards completing the 2024-25 Yearbook. We look forward to it!
