EJPS Week at a Glance (June 16 - 20)
Chers parents,
Let’s start this weeks’ message with an important message from our Librarian:
All library books that have been borrowed this year are now due. Please help your child locate and return any books that may still be at home. While the majority of books do get returned, there are always a few that get lost or damaged.
Should you receive a notice from your childs' teacher regarding missing materials and you are unable to locate them, please consider making a donation to the library towards the replacement cost of the book. You can do this through school cash online where you will have the option to make a $5 or a $10 donation. You are also welcome to send cash.

This past week was a busy one and the last two weeks of school will be in abundance with field trips and special activities at the school. This past Thursday, our Junior qualifying track stars had a fantastic time at City Track. Thanks to Mme Ammon, Forbes, and Prelesnik for supporting our athletes. Next Friday, our Grade 6s will enjoy a long day and evening at camp to celebrate their time at EJPS. On Wednesday, we will have a police safety presentation. Our SK Graduation Ceremony and our FDK Teddy Bear Picnic will close off the week on Friday.
If you volunteered at the school or on a field trip in any way this year, you are invited to our Volunteer Appreciation Tea on Tuesday, June 17th at 10:30 AM in the library. Our staff will prepare treats for you in your honour and some students will be doing some performances to start off the gathering. We’ve had so many volunteers this year it’s challenging to keep track! Please let us know you are coming by filling in the form below

For next year, we are still looking to hire just one more recess and nutrition hour supervisor (NHS) to complete our team of 3 for next year. Would you like to make a difference at our school and help keep our students safe? The paid position requires you to help supervise students outside and inside the school from 10:20 AM to 11:20 AM and 12:20 PM to 1:20 PM. Please contact me at olivier.cutz@ugdsb.on.ca if you are interested in applying.
In other news, I wanted to share some changes about next school year. Next year, we will have the opportunity to use all of the space in our main building by moving the three classes from the portapak into three vacant classrooms in the main building. This change will enhance the overall supervision of students, simplify transitions to the gymnasium, library, washrooms, and resource room as well further promote a sense of belonging and cohesion for our staff and students. It's important to note that the classrooms in the main building are larger than the ones in the portapak, which will be appreciated by our fast-growing junior students! We have informed students so they are aware about the change for next year and can anticipate where their classroom might be and to answer any questions they might have. Also, the long time unoccupied stand alone portable near the spider climber is going to be demolished and taken away. This will provide additional space to our play yard. Additionally, I wanted to share that our teachers' tentative teaching assignments have been confirmed. We will share our staff list a few days before the first day of school as changes could potentially occur over the summer. With that said, our tentative classroom organization has been confirmed as well and will be finalized in the second week of September by the UGDSB Staffing Committee. In my estimation, the class organization will likely not change. As a courtesy, I have shared our tentative classroom organization below:
three classes of FDK; two Grade 1 classes; one Grade 1\2 split class; one Grade 3 class; one Grade 3\4 split class; two Grade 4\5 split classes; one Grade 6 split class
