On March 6, Hyland Heights students and staff are going to put on their dancing shoes to raise money for our Student Nutrition Program. Our Student Nutrition Program, which includes our Breakfast and Snack Programs, serves over 220 students each day. As you can imagine, it can become quite costly to run the program. This year we are asking our students, staff, and broader school community to help make sure that nutritious food is available to students so that they can be ready to learn!
A Dance-a-thon is a fun way for students to raise money, learn some new dance moves (part of the dance curriculum), and have a chance to earn a few prizes. Dancing for a great cause!
During the week of February 10, students will bring home a fundraising envelope. We are asking that, with your supervision and if they are able, students get donations from friends and family. All funds collected will go directly to our Nutrition Program. All students will be given one prize ticket. For every $5 that a student raises, they will earn an additional ticket. Students can use their ticket(s) and try to win a fun prize. Winners will be selected on the day of the Dance-a-thon.
How can families help? Donate a kid-friendly prize. The more prizes that are available, the more exciting it is for our students. Support and supervise your child(ren) as they ask family and friends for a donation (Please do not ask strangers!) Make a financial donation to our Student Nutrition Program. Tax receipts can be provided for donations of over $20. Come and dance with your child! A schedule will be sent out before the event.
Thank you for supporting our Breakfast Club program!
