We are pleased to announce that guest author, (and former Hyland Heights student) Amaya James will be visiting our school on Wednesday, May 14th. Amaya is the author and illustrator of the Amazon best-seller, Afro, No!, and the designer of the Lil' Emmie doll.
Amaya will be presenting to our Grades 1 - 4/5 classes, and not only will she be reading her book to our students, she will also outline "her process and the tools she uses to go from doodling on paper to publishing a book". Students will have the opportunity to ask Amaya questions at the end of her presentations.
We know this will be an inspiring visit, and we can't wait to welcome Amaya back to Hyland Heights!
