Reminder: E-Scooters and E-Bikes
Please share messaging with your families, staff and communities -
In response to a recent increase in activity related to e-scooters and e-bikes in school communities, we are offering the following newsletter insert to be shared with your families.
With the return to school this fall we encourage students to use safe routes to school when walking or 'wheeling' to and from school. We are sharing the following information regarding e-scooters and e-bikes for awareness.
Please note, e-scooters and e-bikes are not permitted on school property for students under the age of 16. This is in line with Ontario legislation which prohibits the use of e-scooter and e-bikes for youth under 16 years old.
E-scooters and e-bikes are not permitted to be stored inside school buildings.
Students are welcome to ride standard bikes or scooters to and from school, always wearing a helmet and following road safety rules.
💛 Reminder: Food Programs – September 8–11
Please note that there will be no food programs available at JGPS during the week of September 8–11.
If you are a student who needs food or something to eat during the school day, please come to the Office and speak with one of our Office Staff. We are here to help and will be happy to support you.
Please never hesitate to ask—we are always happy to help! 💛
💛 Volunteers Needed – Breakfast & Snack Programs at JGPS!
We are looking for wonderful volunteers to help support our Breakfast and Snack Programs at John Galt PS!
These programs make such a meaningful difference for our students, and we would be so grateful for your help in keeping them running throughout the school day.
🥣 Breakfast Program
Our Breakfast Program runs Monday–Friday from 8:00–8:30 a.m. Volunteers help prepare and serve breakfast and welcome our students as they start their day.
🍎 Snack Program
Our Snack Program provides classrooms with nutritious snack bins throughout the day. Volunteers typically help for one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon
to prepare and distribute snacks.
A volunteer application form and a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required. Please see the office for the UGDSB Volunteer Application form and the letter for the police VSC application.
Even a small commitment of your time can make a big difference for our students! If you are able to volunteer regularly or occasionally, we would absolutely love to have you join us.
Thank you for helping us make sure that every JGPS student has access to food and feels cared for and supported. 💛
