guest speaker

On April 9, students in Grades 4 - 8 will participate in a presentation during the school day delivered by Laura McDonald from the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington and Tiffany Fagan from Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario. The presenters will be speaking with students about self-care and healthy coping strategies for youth. This presentation has been organized and funded by JMC’s School Council.

Later that evening, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., CMHA and The Grove will host a parent workshop that will highlight key ideas shared with students earlier in the day. The session will focus on self-care and caring for the caregiver (“you can’t pour from an empty cup”). Presenters will also review the coping strategies introduced during the student sessions so parents and caregivers have the same information and tools.

If you plan to attend the parent session, please RSVP using this link so we can plan accordingly. The presentation will take place in the school gym.

We hope you can join us for this informative evening.

Sincerely,

School Council
