On Tuesday December 10th our School Council will be hosting the annual turkey lunch for Maryborough students. Please ensure your student(s) brings a plate and cutlery on that day.
Are you interested in baking cupcakes for our holiday lunch? Are you interested volunteering your time to help prepare the lunch? If so please contact our School Council Chair Shannon Frook (shannonsmith11@hotmail.com or 519-505-1015).
You may notice a significant police and fire presence at our school on Thursday December 19th. This is the day our grade 6 students go shopping for our local food bank with local first responders. On December 20th our school will be skating at the Drayton arena. A big thank you to Culp’s Lawn Care and C. Deen Electric Inc. for donations to cover the cost of bussing and ice rental.

MPS Grade 4/5 Grand Pals Program
Hello Maryborough families.
Our grade 4/5 class will be running our Grandpals program in the springtime again this school year. We are looking for anyone 55 or older to join our group. The program has 6 sessions on Thursday afternoons from 2:00-3:00 with one final celebration to follow and close up our time together. The GrandPals Program is an intergenerational program that connects an elementary school class with a small team of GrandPals (adults over 55) to engage in weekly, open conversations providing a path for connection and learning through storytelling. Students, Host Teachers and GrandPals benefit through forming bonds, throughout the program, that build understanding, mutual respect and an increased sense of belonging.
The GrandPals stories expose students to diverse world views. It helps anchor generations and create a sense of belonging. The interactions inspire creativity and imagination that result in enriched learning and lasting pieces of work both students and GrandPals can be proud of.
In order to become a grandpal we need each participant to have an up to date vulnerable sector police check form handed into the school. This is all completed online but does take 6-8 weeks to be completed. If you know of anyone that would be interested please contact
