Bully Awareness and Prevention Week at the Upper Grand District School Board:  From November 17 to 21, the Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) will be participating in Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week (BAPW). This week provides an important opportunity for students, staff, and parents/guardians to deepen their understanding of bullying, its impact on student learning and well-being, and ways we can all contribute to a safe, inclusive, and caring school environment.  This year’s theme is “Power for Good.”  Tuesday November 18 will be “Odd Socks Day” and Friday November 21st will be “wear Pink day.” For families currently navigating a bullying situation, there are a variety of resources and supports available on the UGDSB website to assist and inform. Resources and Links:

The November Communications Newsletter is out! In this month's issue we have information about:

  • The UGDSB’s new Sustainability & Climate Action Plan

  • A new PSW Program

  • Resources for parents on screen time and substance use

  • And more!

You can view the newsletter here: https://www.ugdsb.ca/page/communications-newsletter

Kiss n Ride Routines: This is a message to let you know that we want to take all steps to keep your children safe.  Recently, it has been very busy in our Kiss and Ride area.  We highly recommend walking.  For families who are wishing to walk their children to the kindergarten fence or back yard, we ask that you park around the back of the school or find a parking spot to pull into.  Do not leave your car unattended in the kiss and ride. Please ensure that if you choose to use our pull through kiss and ride, take your time, and be safe.

Weather & Being Dressed Appropriately: With unpredictable weather, please check the forecast each morning to dress your child appropriately. Students go outside daily—even in light rain or snow. Packing extra pants and socks helps avoid calls home for wet clothes.  If your family needs help with winter gear, contact your child’s teacher, Mrs. Alie, or Ms. Kaufman.
