Dear PCPS Families,
As February continues, we are recognizing Black Heritage, Black Brilliance, and Black Futures month here at our school. Students enjoyed the presentation by GetOutreach Works last week on Thursday and learned about African culture including different dances and music. We are learning about influential black icons during classroom activities, and through school displays. Walking from classroom to classroom students are participating in read alouds, reading independently, writing poetry and biographies about black brilliance. Please ask your child all about it.
Winter Play day was a success! It was wonderful to take advantage of this snowy weather, enjoy the fresh air and enjoy some hot chocolate.
Our curling team continues to learn the game with the direction of Ms. Belford. Our Girls and Boys basketball teams are continuing to learn about team play, set plays and resiliency as they represent our Panthers with pride.
Monday, February 16th, there will be no school for students as we recognize Family day. We would like to wish all of you safe, enjoyable long “extra” long weekend and if you are looking for something fun to do? Check out information about the Alder Recreation Centre

No Bus Days: We Are Open! A reminder that on no bus days, we are here for learning. A very small percentage of our students are bussed, so teachers carry on with a normal learning day. Our school is open for all who can safely make it here. If your child does not ride the bus and will not be attending school, you need to call in their absence please. This helps Ms. Marnie with her safe arrival procedures in a timely manner. Thank you for your help with this.

We are excited to share a valuable opportunity to support your child’s well-being. School Mental Health Ontario is offering a free webinar series as part of the By Your Side Learning Hub, designed to help parents and caregivers navigate important topics to support their children’s mental health.
This expert-led series will provide insights and practical strategies on:

The webinars will also include answers to questions that parents/caregivers can provide ahead of the webinar, giving you the chance to ask questions and gain practical guidance.
