Dear PCPS Families,

Today we had our ‘Words Matter” day assembly and we would like to send a big thank you to our PCPS student community for their participation.   Students learned about how words can be used to build each other up, or bring each other down.  Students have been learning about what "Identity" is?, and participating in conversations about, "What parts make up your identity? in their classes".   Today’s “Words Matter” day had a focus on the difference between “Intent” and “Impact” when harmful language has been used.  Kindness matters!  Today’s event promotes using positive language to create a chain reaction of kindness while addressing and reducing harmful or discriminatory language

As we move into June, students will continue their learning about identity and how as a school community we can work together to reduce identity-based harm.

Jump Rope for Heart! Our school is participating in Jump Rope for Heart!  Our school is proud to be participating in Heart & Stroke’s Jump Rope for Heart starting on Thursday, June 18th. Students will learn EASY healthy habits and raise funds to support lifesaving heart and brain research.

Help us reach our fundraising goal by donating or registering to create your own fundraising page to share with family and friends. Visit our school’s fundraising page to get started: https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/116251

Playground Update:

Unfortunately at this time, our Playground remains closed as a result of our inspection.  The UGDSB has shared the proposal for the repairs needed and we are working with our Parkinson Centennial Public School Council to make a decision about our next steps.   If you have any questions or comments about the playground, please reach out and share your feedback with members on the School Council.   We will be voting on how to proceed at our next Parent Council meeting in June.

We have had staff working on our new door entry system that will include a new door bell and camera with remote access.    Please be patient while we transition to this new system and look for our new signage which help families know how to enter at the front door.
