It was wonderful to see students and families over the past few days as staff conducted parent teacher interviews. This is a great time to talk about strengths and growth, followed by goal setting. Families are a dynamic part of our learning team and we appreciate your partnership!
Thank you to our ECO-Club with the support of Ms. Chambers for their work on creating lovely planters in the front of our building! We would also like to acknowledge Ms. Hoekstra and our Intermediate Girls Volleyball team representing Parkinson at the Westside Secondary Intermediate Volleyball tournament this past week. A great day of skill building and team play.
PCPS Family Math Night: We are really excited to host our first Family Math Night/Book Fair Event on December 5. Our goal is to build our school community by welcoming families into a night of math together, increase the love of number games and math, and shift our conversations towards a positive mindset in Math Learning. Check out our Flyer and if you are planning on attending, please fill out the survey :https://forms.gle/ZtqxbRqxvPHxfgPD9
School Reminder: Please note that we encourage all families to meet their child at their assigned door at 3:00. Parents who need to have their child picked up are encouraged to call the school prior to 2:30 and let Ms. Marnie know so we can have your child ready. If you are coming into the school, all parents are required to sign in at the office. This is important for us to know who is in the building. We will call for your child to come to the office. Thank you for your help with this.
Parent Council: There will be a few members of our Parent Council who will be joining us on Family Math Night, please be sure to stop by the library to check out resources from our Family Math Lending Library.
Community School Spirit: As we move into a well deserved winter break for students and families, our student council (with the support of Ms. Lyon and Ms. Lowe) has come up with some ideas for building a positive climate and increasing school spirit. From Dec. 16-20, students will be decorating their classroom door with a “Walking in a winter wonderland” theme. The winning class will receive a hot chocolate & candy cane party.
