Hello PCPS Families!

It’s safe to say that winter has arrived.    It has been wonderful watching the students play with the snow during Nutrition Break.    It’s that time of year for Mittens, Hats, Scarves and Snowpants and Boots.   Students go outside 2 times a day for 20 minute stretches.   Please label the items as best you can so we can try and return items that sometimes find their way to the lost and found.

The UGDSB December Communications Newsletter is out! In this month's issue there is information about:

  • Save the Date! Kindergarten Registration

  • Download the new mobile app!

  • Wellness Works: Authenticity

  • And more!

PCPS Family Math Night:  Family Math Night was an incredible success.   Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out on such a cold and snowy night.   Congratulations go to 4 students who won prizes (e.g. Math games and Book Fair prizes).  Playing games, talking positively about numbers and seeing math everywhere will help build confidence in math for our students. Thank you Parkinson!

School Reminder:

  • Parking Lot Before and After School:  WIth the arrival of winter weather, our parking lot is becoming busier at arrival and dismissal time.  If you are entering or exiting the parking lot, please drive very cautiously and yield to school buses.   If you are dropping off or picking up children, please speak to them about the importance of walking to your vehicle and being extra careful about their surroundings.  It is strongly encouraged that you park in a parking space, or at the back of the school whenever possible and walk with smaller children through the parking lot.  Please remember to keep accessible parking available for those in need.

  • End of Day Pick Up: Please note that we encourage all families to meet their child at their assigned door at 3:00.   Parents who need to have their child picked up are encouraged to call the school prior to 2:30 and let Ms. Marnie know so we can have your child ready.    If you are coming into the school, all parents are required to sign in at the office.  This is important for us to know who is in the building.   We will call for your child to come to the office.   Thank you for your help with this.
