Students had a brilliant, but busy first week back after March break. We continue to encourage families to monitor weather daily. As this week proved spring is here, but winter is trying hard to hang on! Winter coats, mittens, hats and appropriate footwear help to make recess enjoyable.  Congrats to both our sideline basketball and curling teams who represented PCPS with pride. Go Panthers Go!

We would like to remind families that although we often consider pets to be part of our families, they are not permitted on school grounds during the school day. This is not just for the well-being of the humans in our school community, but the busy school yard can also be a stressful place for animals. Leaving pets at home during the walk to and from school is in the best interest of everyone. Trained, or in-training, service animals are of course permitted when accompanied by their handler.

Thank you to all caregivers who take the time to sign students in/our at the office when arriving late or leaving early. If your child requires supervision to walk to class please have your child take a seat in the office and staff will be called to support this transition. It is important that we know who is in the building at all times, and ask that parents not walk students to class. LIkewise, please remember to wait in the office or front foyer for your child to be called to the office if leaving early. We appreciate your support in minimizing the number of adults moving through the building during the school day.

We are currently looking for adult volunteers to help in the library. If you have submitted a Vulnerable Sector Check to the office and are looking for an opportunity to be present in the school more, please consider volunteering to shelve books in the library. Timing and schedule are highly flexible with no limits on minimum or maximum hours of availability. If you are interested please reach out to Ms. Kaufman at sara.kaufman@ugdsb.on.ca or stop by the office to schedule training.
