ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Good attendance and punctuality are important in order to maximize school achievement and are good habits to develop for later in life. Please remember to contact the school office when your child is going to be absent or late for school.  Attendance is taken in the morning and afternoon of each school day. Students are marked absent if they are not in class on time. Students arriving late must check in at the office so the office attendance register can be amended to show a late arrival.

OPEN HOUSE

We welcome families to visit our Open House/Math Night that will be taking place from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 25th.  We look forward to seeing you!  This event is a lovely opportunity to explore our classrooms, meet our dedicated teachers and discover the rich learning experiences that await your child.

TRAFFIC AND SAFETY REMINDER

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The safety of our students is our top priority, and we need your help to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Please remember that school supervision is provided from 8:40 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. To enhance safety, we kindly ask that you use the crosswalks at the traffic lights and ensure that children are under your supervision at all times.

Your cooperation in following these guidelines helps us protect our students and maintain a safe arrival process for everyone. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

TERRY FOX

Paisley is registered to participate in the Terry Fox School Run on the afternoon of September 26th . Students will run and/or walk around our field, supervised by staff. We have two ways of collecting donations this year. Students and their families may wish to participate in our “Toonies forTerry'" campaign. This method will have the students bring coins to school that staff would collect and put in an envelope and store in the school’s safe. The second method is through our Paisley Road online fundraising page, for those parents who feel more comfortable donating directly to theTerry Fox Foundation. The link is attached here for donations. Please consider making a donation online as monies will go directly to the Terry Fox Foundation.  Children should dress for the weather. Our rain date will be Wednesday, October 1st.

FOOD GUIDELINES

Celebrating special events and occasions at school is a great way to create a positive atmosphere.  We ask that you consider celebrating with non food items such as pencils, stickers, books, puzzles or board games for indoor recess. Food items come with risks for our students with life threatening food allergies or medical conditions. To reduce the risk of student exposure to allergens any food items brought in must be approved by the classroom teacher prior to the event. If approved please ensure that all ingredients are clearly listed on the food item.

DROP OFF/PICK UP FROM SCHOOL

There are several NO PARKING zones around the school.  Please be aware and adhere to the bylaw when dropping off and picking up students from school.  This helps to ensure the safety of our students.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.  

SCHOOL CASH ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEW FAMILIES

We will continue to use School Cash Online as a convenient and easy way for parents/guardians to make payments for pizza, field trips etc.

SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING

We are pleased to announce that our first School Council Meeting of the year will take place in the Learning Commons on September 16th at 6:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!

YOU’RE INVITED TO THE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR AT PAISLEY ROAD PUBLIC SCHOOL!

Below are the hours of operation, when books can be purchased, here in the library at Paisley Road Public School. Families can stop by from 3:30 - 4:30 

during the week of September 22-26, with the exception of Thursday from 5:30 - 7:00 for the Open House.

Families, please enter the school through the front doors (closest to the flagpole).
