Dear Paisley Road Families,

Welcome to a new school year! I hope that you and your families had a wonderful, relaxing summer holiday and had the opportunity to enjoy some special time together. We are very excited to welcome everyone back to Paisley Road Public School and begin another year of learning, growth, and community.

We would like to share an important new procedure that has been put in place by the Upper Grand District School Board this year. Families will receive an email on Friday, September 4th, sharing their child’s class placement and teacher name. We know that students and families are excited to find out who their teacher will be.

On the first day of school, we ask that families and students go to the back of the school and locate the grade posters displayed on the school wall. This will help you more easily find your child’s classroom teacher. Classroom teachers will be located near their respective grade posters and will be available to welcome students and families.

All Kindergarten students, should meet along the Kindergarten side of the building. Teachers will be located in this area to welcome their students.

Our custodians and teachers have been working hard over the past few weeks to prepare our school for the arrival of all of our students. Classrooms are being organized, learning spaces are being prepared, and everything is coming together for a wonderful start to the year. We cannot wait to welcome our students on Tuesday, September 8th, and see all of those wonderful smiles throughout our school!

Please take some time to review the Paisley Road Public School Family Handbook. The handbook has been prepared as a general reference for families and includes important information about school routines, procedures, and general school information, as well as some Upper Grand District School Board policies. Whether you are new to our school community or have been with us for many years, we hope you will find it to be a helpful resource. We also want to remind families that school information is shared through an email blast each Friday. You may also wish to download the UGConnect App for iPhone or Android devices. The app provides convenient access to school information, including the school calendar, messages, transportation information, School Cash Online, and more—all in one location.

At Paisley Road Public School, we take great pride in the support of our parent and caregiver community. We warmly invite you to become involved in our school through volunteer opportunities in classrooms, special events, and our School Council. Your involvement helps make our school an even stronger and more vibrant community for our students.
