Hallowe’en
We invite students to wear school appropriate costumes (no weapons, masks or scary costumes) or dress in orange and black if they choose for Hallowe’en on Friday, Oct 31st. Staff will share programs and activities in their individual classrooms. All students are welcome to participate and please let your child’s teacher know if your child doesn’t participate in Hallowe’en as alternate programming will be provided to ensure inclusion. It is our responsibility to ensure that school community members avoid using identities and cultures as costumes. This includes appropriative costumes/cultural stereotypes (i.e. cultural garments), body-shaming and objectifying costumes. Such costumes perpetuate stereotypes and can cause harm that can further marginalize and oppress community members. If you are unsure, please contact your child’s teacher.
JD Sweid -
Thank you for your support together we sold 200 boxes of chicken and raised a total of $1000 for our school recess equipment and our playground reserve fund. Friendly reminder that all JD Sweid orders will be available for pick up on Thursday Nov 6th between 3:00-5:00pm at the schools front entrance.
