Hello families. I am sending out a mid-week message rather than a Friday one as there are a few pieces that are a little time sensitive.
Firstly, Public Health is offering free fluoride varnish for any student signed up on Wednesday, November 5th. The need to have a certain number of students enrolled in order to come to the school. Please see the attached flyer and register using the QR Code provided.

Well-Being and Health Youth (WHY) Survey: Our school is surveying students, parents and staff to learn how we are doing at creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments. Tomorrow we are cheering on our Toronto Blue Jays. Students can wear their Jays wear or blue. We will be having a “7th Inning Stretch” in the hallways in the afternoon. Go Jays Go!
A reminder that Friday is Halloween. Students may choose to wear their regular clothes, dress in orange and black or wear a costume. If you do send your child in a costume, please refer to my earlier emails around guidelines for school.
We have been having some issues with parents arriving late with their children and then wanting to walk them to class. For the safety of all, please note that our school hallways and classrooms are closed to all visitors (including parents), during the school day, which begins when our bell rings. Should you arrive late, please report to the office and we will have a staff member make sure that your child gets safely to the classroom. Also, a reminder that our parking lot is closed in the morning before school starts and until all the buses have left. Unfortunately we have had a few parents argue with staff on duty or not stop when asked. Again this is a safety concern that we expect all parents to abide by. We want our school to be a welcoming space for all, but we do need to make sure our kids are safe first.
Finally, the deadline for our Intermediate Fundraiser with Dominoes pizza is closing tomorrow. If you want to get a deal on pizza and help offset the costs of our year end trip visit www.schoolcashonline.ca and order your card.
