What a wild weather week with the earliest No Bus Day I can recall. We want to remind families to send their kiddos with hats and mitts. Extra mitts and socks in the backpack are always a good idea. Speaking of backpacks…what wonderful creativity we saw today with our “anything but a back pack” spirit day. From cardboard boxes, to luggage to baby carriers, our kids had fun showing off their ideas on the yard this morning.
This week we had a wonderful Remembrance Day assembly with so many classes offering songs, poems and reflections of books. A special thank you to Corporal Butterfield and Lieutenant Tavares for coming to participate.

Next week is Bullying Awareness Week. Each day through daily announcements, readalouds, and activities, students will be learning about the difference between conflict and bullying, how to be an “upstander” and how building a community of kindness can be a powerful tool against bullying. We are also looking forward to sharing some of the work students have done as part of the Spencer Cup challenge of creating a public service announcement about kindness.
Mark your calendars for December 13th as Winterfest is fast approaching! School Council is still looking for parent volunteers to help make this year a success. The School Council board at our front entrance has QR codes to sign up. Do you have a child in high school that would be interested in volunteering at Winterfest and earning some volunteer hours? Please have them reach out to me. We have shifts on December 12 for set up and on the day of the event itself.
