Congratulations to our cross country and ultimate frisbee teams for all your hard work and your successful results in your meet and tournament. Thanks to Mrs. Endeman and Mrs Rigby for coaching our runners and Mr. Curry, Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Lowrie for your work with our frisbee team. Thanks to our parent cheerleaders.
This week Ms. McLarnon and Mr. Lopes hosted about 50 students who have ideas for clubs to have in the library at recess. These are student-led clubs. Today students saw the two page list of clubs that they can participate in. It is great to see the leadership of our kiddos. Students learn about the clubs by listening to our daily announcements.
Also starting this week is the Spencer Avenue Allies. Students in grades 4-8 can join this club which focuses on social justice and spreads awareness through announcements and events throughout the year.
Students in grade 1-8 are invited to join our EcoClub. As an EcoSchool these students work hard to make us think about the environment and what we can do to help the planet.
Other opportunities this week included an invitation for our intermediates to join the sports council and plan junior intramurals, dance club, cribbage club, crochet club, ukelele club, boys volleyball and more.
Our students are extremely lucky to have so many opportunities beyond the classroom. Thanks to our staff for giving up their lunches and recesses to enrich the lives of our kids.
