Picture Day is on Wednesday of next week. Don’t forget to smile! Speaking of smiles…Public Health is offering a free fluoride varnish to students on November 30. See the attached document to register your child if you would like them to have this.
Next week is “Take Me Outside” week. Teachers will be moving some of their lessons outdoors so we can enjoy the good weather before the snow starts to fly. This is also one of our EcoClub’s initiatives that give us points towards our EcoSchool certificate. Make sure you send your kiddos dressed for the weather.
A reminder that our second School Council meeting of the year will be happening on Tuesday, October 20th at 6pm. We will be speaking about plans for this school year, including our Winterfest event happening on December 12. There has been a change with the Ministry of Education and now all parents who are part of School Council must have a police check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening on file with the school board. If you would like to be part of Council but do not have a police check, please reach out to me and I will send home the letter you will need to provide to the OPP. Police checks are done online. Currently the Orangeville OPP do not charge for volunteers.
Parents often ask me about the clubs that students can get involved in. Below is a list of all the different things that students had an opportunity to participate in this week. This is in addition to our junior and intermediate students who had an opportunity to try-out for the school’s volleyball teams. Students find out about what clubs are happening when on our morning announcement slidedeck. New opportunities are always being added…our students are fortunate to have so many options thanks to our amazing staff.
