We are so happy that the weather warmed up today so that we were able to get outside for recess and outdoor learning opportunities.  We also were able to get on a few ski trips.  Three days of indoor recesses are not fun for anyone.  A reminder that the temperatures can vary greatly throughout the day.  Making sure your child comes to school with hats, mittens, snowpants, etc. helps to ensure that they are able to enjoy a Canadian winter.  It is also a good idea to pack some extra mitts and socks in your child’s backpack as the originals might get wet throughout the day.

We are celebrating “No Name Calling Week” until February 14.  Our SAA is challenging students to see people doing kind things and to fill in a post-it and add it to our kindness wall in the main hall.  It is already starting to fill up!

Thank you to our intermediate students who have signed up for the mentor program.  They meet once a week with a primary student to play games and build connections.  Thank you to our CYC, Jaime, for organizing this.

Spencer Stallions will once again be participating in the school challenge for the Orangeville Food Bank, during our Coldest Night of the Year walk on February 21.  Students are encouraged to bring in a toonie in support of the food bank.  You can also support our school team online at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=5470251&langPref=en-CA

Tomorrow is our PD Day and the school is closed to students.  Teachers will be working on term one report cards.  These will be available on the Parent Portal on February 12.  We hope you enjoy the long weekend with your kiddos.
