Congratulations to our Badminton team for a great competition on Tuesday. A big thank you to Ms. McLellan for coaching the team. Thanks to all the families who came out to cheer our Stallions on!
This month we are celebrating Black History, Black Brilliance and Black Futures. Classes will be reading books, watching videos and participating in some virtual events. Each day on the announcements we are celebrating Black artists and offering some prompts for class discussion. Our SAA will be creating a display in the front case highlighting a contribution from each class. Mrs. McLarnon has also pulled together many books and resources for students and staff to sign out and enjoy. Throughout the year we acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of all Canadians.
This week our curling team and hockey team did well in their matches with other Dufferin Schools. The play rehearsals are in full swing. Our young entrepreneurs have raised over 200 dollars with hockey cards in support of Coldest Night of the Year. Tryouts for Junior Sideline Basketball and Intermediate Basketball have started. Our Eco Warriors had us turn down the temperature in support of National Sweater Day. We also were practicing for Skills and reading for BOB. We are always busy.
Just a note that term one report cards will be available on February 12. I will send out an email when they are available for viewing on the parent portal.
A reminder to all parents to be mindful and considerate when parking on neighbourhood streets. We have been getting complaints of people blocking driveways, making it challenging for our neighbours to leave their own homes. We appreciate your attention to this matter.
