Congratulations to our intermediate basketball teams who participated in the tournaments today. Thanks to our coaches Mr. Herbert, Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Kuenzig for your work with the team and for arranging all the opportunities for our teams to play other schools. Thank you to our parent drivers who have made this possible and our parent cheer squad.
In May our students will be starting their Health units on Human Growth and Development. Teachers will be sending home letters to let families know the specific expectations that will be taught. In May we will also be having virtual presentations for our grade 4-8 from the Shore Centre. We have had these presentations in the past few years and they receive positive feedback from both students and parents. Teachers will be sharing the dates of these presentations with you. You can also find them on our school website and my “upcoming dates” in my weekly message. For more information on Shore and their presentations please visit https://www.shorecentre.ca/workshops/.
Also happening at the end of April and during the month of May our students in grades 1, 3, 5 and 7 will be engaging in the Child Abuse Prevention program. Letters have gone home to families of students in those grades today. Grade 1, 3 and 5 teachers will be delivering these lessons provided by the school board. The grade seven lessons will be given by our Child and Youth Counsellor, Jaime Young. Teachers will share those dates with you.
