A huge congratulations to the cast and crew of Willy Wonka Jr.  The performances were magical.  Thank you to our directors Mrs. Trumble, Ms. Teeter, Mrs. McAteer, Mrs. Lowrie and Ms. McLarnon for spending the better part of this school year planning, creating, rehearsing and realizing this opportunity that involved close to 100 of our students.  Thank you to all the other staff who helped in this huge undertaking.  We are also thankful to our community who donated materials (Home Hardware, Canadian Tire), provided us with loaners (Westside, Edward Johnson, Centre Wellington, Parkinson) and gave us time (professional engineers, sound experts, high school students.)  Thanks to all who came out to see what a little “imagination” and “thinking positive” can do!

Congratulations to our Chess Club who enjoyed a morning of playing against other local schools in the Chess Tournament this week.  As always, thanks Ms. McLarnon for coaching the team and organizing the trips.  Also, a number of students wrote the Gauss Math Test on Thursday.  Thank you to Mrs. Kennedy for organizing this opportunity.

With six weeks of school left we have a lot of things happening in the school to keep us busy.  Special Olympics are happening next week. Intermediates are trying out for ultimate frisbee.  Classes are switching to learning about track and field as we gear up for Standards Day and the track meet.  Our School Council purchased a GagaBall permanent pit that is being installed.  EQAO for grade 3 and 6 will be happening.  The Guelph Grotto climbing walls will be coming the week of June 9.  Our School Council is hosting the community event on June 11.  Grade 8 graduation is happening on June 23.  The weeks will fly by as there is so much to look forward to.
