Brant Weekly-December 8

Happy December!

December 8 Brant Update

  1. New Principal: My last day at Brant Avenue will be December 22.  There have been a number of principal moves throughout the board effective January 2024.  Mrs. Furii will be going to Ponsonby Public School as principal in the new year.  Kelly Jones, who is currently at Ponsonby, will be the new Brant Avenue Principal.  She is excited to be taking over and I know that she will be an excellent fit for Brant Avenue.  It has been an absolute pleasure to be here during the past few months.  I will truly miss this school.
  1. Holiday Concert:  We really hope to see you at our concerts. Our kindergarten students will perform during the afternoon (2:30 start) of December 19.  We will end close to the end of the school day.  Please feel free to take your kids home after the concert (we will end just before dismissal).

During the evening we will begin at 6:00 P.M. when students in grades 1-6 will perform.

  1. Holiday Week (December 18-22):

Monday-FaLaLa Flannel (wear your favourite flannel)

Tuesday-Holiday Concert outfits

Wednesday-Holiday socks and headwear

Thursday-Holiday seaters or sparkle/shine

Friday-Comfy PJ’s for comfy cozy day

  1. School Council will meet next Tuesday from 6:00-7:00PM.  Please use the following                      meet.google.com/mtt-jjuu-iaz to get into the Google Meet.  We will try to start promptly at 6:00 and end promptly by 7:00.  We hope you can join us!
  1. The School Board’s December Communications Newsletter is out! This newsletter is both for staff and Upper Grand Families. In this month’s issue we have information about:
  • Where to get updates on inclement weather
  • Information for families about students transitioning to high school
  • Policy feedback opportunities
  • And more!

Download the newsletter here: https://www.ugdsb.ca/community/communications/communications-newsletter/

  1. Please help your child to be at school before the bell (8:55).  It is best if they can go into the school with their class instead of to the office for a late slip.
