If you have concerns regarding your child’s hearing, speech and language skills, one of the first steps is to have his or her hearing tested if this has not already been done.

If your child has been identified with hearing loss, it is important that their hearing is re-tested regularly to ensure there is no change in their hearing status and that their assistive listening device functioning well to maximum your child’s access to sounds.

If you child is prone to ear infections or middle ear dysfunction (fluid in the middle ear), it is also important to have their hearing re-tested, once their middle ear problems resolve.
