Posted June 20, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is a message to share information about the distribution of report cards, along with the opportunity to return any remaining school items (i.e., library books, home reading books, technology, etc.).

Dates:

  • Tuesday, June 23rd – Between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, one parent/guardian per family may come to the school to pick up the report card(s) for their child(ren)
  • Wednesday, June 24th – An additional opportunity will be provided between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm for one parent/guardian per family to come and pick up the report card(s) for their child(ren)
  • All remaining reports will be mailed to families on Thursday, June 25th
    • Please note: If your child is in grade 6, report cards will be delivered with your child’s graduation items when we complete the graduation social distance visits (see the schedule emailed by Ms. A). Sibling report cards will also be delivered at this time.

The Following Procedure will be followed by Parents/Guardians when picking up items:

  • Send only one adult per family; prior to arriving, please complete the COVID-19 Self-Assessment
    • If you are exhibiting symptoms, have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days, or if you have been in contact with a confirmed case, please do not come to the school (the report card(s) will be mailed)
  • Another adult may pick up your child(ren)’s report card(s); please email the school to let us know of these arrangements ([email protected]) or send a note with the adult
  • When you arrive, park in the parking lot (while observing social distancing)
    • Then line up in the designated area; pylons will be used to show you where to wait
  • When you get to the pylon at the front of the line (at the Parking Lot doors), there will be a staff member who will help you
    • If you have any additional items to return (i.e., textbooks, library books, home reading books, technology), there will be a bin at the front of the line for you to leave these materials
  • After obtaining the report card(s), please proceed to your vehicle

Important Notes:

  • Access will be prohibited to anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, to anyone who has travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days, or to anyone has had close contact with a confirmed case
  • You may wear your own mask or gloves; however, these will not be provided
  • Please observe social distancing at all times (by standing 6 feet apart)
  • Unaccompanied students will not be permitted at this time
  • This time is designated for the pickup of report cards only; no meetings with staff or other activities are permitted at this time
  • There will be no access to classrooms or washrooms
  • There will be no outdoor supervision; and the playground and yard are closed

A Note About School Borrowed Chromebooks:

  • You may keep the borrowed Chromebook to use over the summer to support learning and/or to help your child(ren) to stay engaged with learning; these devices will then be returned in the fall
    • If you choose to keep the Chromebook over the summer, please remember to fully shut it down regularly to ensure it access updates over the summer when it is turned back on.
  • For those students moving to a new school board for the fall and for families who would prefer to return their Chromebooks over the summer, please drop off at our school as per the schedule below:
    • If you are finished with the Chromebook, they can be dropped off when you pick up your child’s report card on June 23rd or 24th
    • If you would like to use the Chromebook until the last day of school (June 26th), email [email protected] to arrange a drop off time during the week of June 29th

Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any further questions.
