THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORT

Ms. Jones continues to recover from her concussion, and is gradually increasing her time at school as her symptoms allow. She is so grateful for the kind comments and support from the students, families, and staff! We say thank you to Mr. Crawford for filling in these past two weeks, and welcome Ms. Leathem, a retired UDGSB principal, who will be filling in as principal in the office for the next while.

CELL PHONES AND STUDENTS

Cell phones, smartwatches and wireless headphones must be stored out of view and powered off or set to silent mode throughout the full instructional day, except when an educator has given permission for their use, during a specific class on a particular day.  Appropriate uses include: research, planner, calculator, music for work periods.

Texting during the school day is not permitted at any time, even responding to a parent. All home-school communication must be from the school office. Earphones must not be worn outside of the classroom, and may only be worn in the classroom with the teacher’s permission. Absolutely no cell phones or cameras in washrooms.

EVERY DAY COUNTS! CONSISTENT ROUTINES

  • Practice bedtime and morning routines with your child.

  • Having a set schedule for sleep and regular nutrition is key to a good morning and feeling good about school.

  • Preparing for school at night so that the morning is less hectic can be helpful.  Putting out clothes and making lunch the night before can help get your child out the door in the morning.

  • Involving your child in organizing clothing, packing backpacks and including favourite foods in lunch boxes can be reassuring.
