SCHOOL ACCESS REMINDER: Please make sure you are signing in at the office when visiting the school. With measles circulating in the area, we have to keep a clear record of who is in the building when for contact tracing. Parents should not be coming in the back doors. We also ask that you do not walk through the school unless you have a scheduled meeting with a teacher, and you stop at the office to sign in. In the case of students who need support with their gear, a staff member will be called to assist. Thank you for your understanding.

Our Read-A-Thon Continues until April 30th! Work hard to fill your Bingo card. If you need another pledge sheet, please ask at the office.

Book Fair
will be May 7 to 9

Last-Minute Event! Snuggle Up & Read at Brant Avenue Public School for UGDSB’s Education and Mental Health Week

What? A chance for you to read with your child at school, shop at the Scholastic book fair, and enter to win a gift certificate for Scholastic, the Bookshelf, or The Dragon!

When? Wednesday, May 7th 2-3PM

Where? Your youngest or only child’s classroom, the hallway, or the gym

Why? Reading to young children is an important way to help them build language skills. It also helps them learn about the world, which makes it easier for them to learn about new subjects in school. Books also help children build empathy and learn how to handle challenging feelings. Even a few minutes of reading together gives you and your child a chance to slow down and connect with each other.   https://childmind.org/article/why-is-it-important-to-read-to-your-child/
