From all the staff here at Brant Avenue PS, we hope everyone had a safe and joyful winter break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back at 8:45 am on January 6th, 2025! anuary 7th is when Junior Kindergarten Registration starts for this coming September. If your child was born in 2021, you will be registering for JK this coming January. If you know someone in our community with a 2021 baby, please let them know about registration dates. More information about the Kindergarten Program in Upper Grand can be found here: https://www.ugdsb.ca/o/ugdsb/page/kindergarten-home Our next School Council Meeting is Tuesday, January 14th at 6:30 in the school library and also virtually on Google Meet. Brant Family Weekly Dec 13-20 Spirit Week Dec 16 - 20 Monday Favourite hat, hair accessory or sock day Tuesday - Favourite sweater, shirt or sweat pants Wednesday - Dress for the Winter Showcase Thursday - Grinch Day Friday - Pajamas or Comfy Cozy Day Winter Showcase is Wednesday December 18 KA/KB is at 2:30 Grades 1-6 is 6pm Popcorn sales are Thursday’s at 2nd break for $2 Winter Holidays start December 23 - January 3 Back to school Monday January 6th See you in the new year! A few of our classes have had lice cases. In the winter, our hats are close to each other on the coat racks. We also ask that children not wear each other’s hats or scarves, to help minimize the spread. If your child has lice, please let the office know right away. Then, we send a letter home to their classmates so families can do a head check. We have lice treatment kits available at the office if cost is an issue. Thank you!

Our flag is at half-mast today to recognize National Indigenous Veterans Day, which is Friday, November 8 Progress reports will be sent home as a paper copy and be available electronically on Wednesday, November 13th. Look for information about how to sign up for Family-Teacher interviews to go home that day as well. ******** Dear Brant families, I wanted to make you aware of a minor situation that happened today. Earlier this morning, we detected a smell in one of our classrooms. We relocated the class to the library while the classroom aired out and maintenance staff investigated. Maintenance gave the all-clear that the room was fine to re-enter and our day continued as normal. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you, Ms. Jones
