International and Indigenous Languages Program
2025–2026 Program Details

The Upper Grand DSB’s International and Indigenous Languages Program offers students in JK to Grade 8 the opportunity to learn to read, write, and speak a new language, or to maintain and strengthen their heritage language skills.

Program Location and Schedule

For the 2025–2026 school year, classes will run Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The program will be offered in two sessions of approximately 8 weeks each to accommodate holidays, March Break, and possible winter weather cancellations. Students registered in Session 1 will automatically continue into Session 2—there will be no need to re-register.

Registration Process

To determine which classes can run, families will first be asked to complete an Intent to Register Form for their preferred language(s). This form is no longer accepting responses.

  • By mid October UGDSB will confirm which classes can proceed and invite families to an in-person registration session to complete all required documentation.

  • Families will be reminded of the importance of regular attendance to ensure program success.
