History: The school was formed in September 2002. Students and staff shared a space at the Orangeville Holding School with Montgomery Village students (400) until they moved into their new school by Westside Secondary School and then immediately began sharing the space with Princess Margaret PS until they moved into their school building on Townline. The school was originally referred to as PH 9/10 PS until it was officially named as Island Lake Public School in the Spring of 2003.
