To be a School Volunteer: Vulnerable Sector Checks Required

All volunteers who come into contact with students—including classroom helpers and field trip supervisors—must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).

What You Need to Know:

  • Already have a VSC?
If you completed one within the past 6 months (for work, sports, etc.), you can bring it to the school office.

  • Need to apply?
Applying is easy and free for volunteers. You'll need a Volunteer VSC Letter when applying. (click the button on the right).
Apply online through the OPP website. You will upload your Volunteer VSC letter to the site.

  • VSC Validity:
Once on file at the school, your VSC is valid for 5 years. Each year, you will also be asked to complete a Volunteer Agreement Form (click the button on the right).

Please drop off your completed documents at the school office or send them with your child.

We appreciate your time and support—thank you for helping us keep JD Hogarth a safe and welcoming place for all students!
