Between May 4 to 8, 2026, the Upper Grand District School Board will be celebrating Mental Health and Education Week (MHEW). This year, the theme is “Feel Well, Think Well, Learn Well...Together!”
Each year for MHEW, the board hosts a contest where students can submit their logo for the week. This year's logo was provided by grade 11 student Keira P., from Erin District High School. The artwork will appear on the board and school websites throughout the district, in newsletters, and on social media.
Throughout the week classrooms will be focusing on a different topic each day. Topics include:
Monday – Feel Well, Starting with Self-care
Tuesday – Think Well, Calming the Mind
Wednesday – Learn Well, Building Confidence
Thursday – Belong Together, Strengthening Community
Friday – Celebrate Together, Our Community Grows
Educators have been provided resources to support this learning in their classrooms. For more mental health resources for students, please visit the board website. Resources that parents/caregivers can access to support their child(ren) can be found here.
Throughout the week of May 4th, be sure to follow UGDSB on Instagram (@Uppergrand) and #MHUG for the latest MHEW content.
