To be a School Volunteer: Vulnerable Sector Checks Required

All volunteers who come into contact with students—including classroom helpers and field trip supervisors—must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).

What You Need to Know:

Already have a VSC? If you completed one within the past 6 months (for work, sports, etc.), you can bring it to the school office with the Volunteer Agreement (see below)

Need to apply?
You'll need a Volunteer VSC Letter when applying. (click the button on the bottom, print it out and fill in the blanks). Apply online through the https://www.guelphpolice.ca/request-for-information/police-record-checks/. You will upload your Volunteer VSC letter to the site.

VSC Validity:
Once on file at the school, your VSC is valid for 4 years. Each year, you will also be asked to complete an Annual Offence Declaration (form can be found by clicking the button below).
