Wolverine Head of Experiential Learning, Mr. Timberlake, smiles gratefully in the attached photo while receiving a generous donation on behalf of Wellington Heights from the Mount Forest Legion.
Wellington Heights is very appreciative of the donation which is greatly needed to support experiential learning opportunities and extracurricular activities for our students who have financial need.
Wellington Heights is committed to honouring local veterans as demonstrated through the display of white crosses on the school lawn each year - with each cross representing the name of a local veteran who served in the Canadian Armed Forces during war. Our students also attend Remembrance Day ceremonies at the centotaph each year, and participate in the Legion's annual visual art and literary contest.
We value our partnership and connection with local Legion branches in both Mount Forest and Arthur, and work diligently to instill within our students a respect for Canada's veterans and their many sacrifices over the years to ensure peace and freedom in our country.
We also appreciate the tireless efforts of our local Legion members who fundraise diligently to support worthy causes in our local community. Thank you, Mount Forest Legion for your generous donation to Wellington Heights!
