Hello Arbour Vista families,

As the days grow shorter and the temperatures drop, we find ourselves immersed in the beauty of autumn and the exciting learning opportunities that this month has in store for our students.

Your Future Your Choice

Your Future Your Choice is organized in partnership with the Career Education Council. Grade 8-12 parents and students are invited to Centennial CVI to speak with a wide variety of vendors representing secondary programs, postsecondary pathways and workplace opportunities.

The event takes place Nov. 15th 6pm-8pm.

Treaties Recognition Week

Treaties Recognition Week is held annually during the first week of November. This year the week will take place from November 6 – 10, 2023. The annual event honours the importance of treaties and helps students learn more about treaty rights and relationships. By learning more about our collective treaty rights and obligations, we can create greater understanding and nurture these relationships.

Vaccination Day

Vaccinations will take place on November the 9th for our grade 7 students.

Positive Sportsmanship

We are so proud of our students’ sportsmanship when representing Arbour Vista. While competition is an integral part of Athletics we emphasize the importance of positive sportsmanship. Whether on the field, court or track we encourage our students to embody the values of respect, fairness and teamwork. Good sportsmanship creates an environment where all athletes can thrive and enjoy their sporting experiences.

School Council

School council will be meeting virtually on Tuesday November 7 at 6:30.  The link to the meeting can be found on our website under “School Council”.

Strengths to Grow Research Study

Parents and guardians of elementary school children are invited to participate in the Strengths to Grow research study. This brief study is entirely online and can be completed at any time. Participants will complete two 10-minute surveys and the 30-minute Strengths to Grow program which helps parents identify and develop their child’s unique strengths. Every participant receives free access to the Strengths to Grow program. For more information, follow this link: https://bit.ly/strength-research

Faith Days During the month of November

Acknowledging and celebrating days of faith is an important aspect of many religious traditions and cultures. Different faiths have their own holy days, festivals, and observances that hold significance for their followers. During the month of November please see the days that will be acknowledged and celebrated by some members of our school community. Please note that there is diversity within faith communities and that no one list can represent all faith traditions or observances.
