From the Principal’s Desk – December 18, 2023

Dear Arbour Vista families,

Mme Languedoc and I want to thank you for an amazing start to the school year. With open communication and our collective commitment to the well being of our children, we are certain that the new year will be equally as amazing.

We hope that you all get some time over the winter break to eat delicious foods, to rest and relax and to spend quality time with those you hold near and dear to your heart. From our Arbour Vista Family to yours, we wish you all a Happy Holiday and can’t wait to see you all in the New Year.

FESTIVE FUN DAYS

What better way to spend the last week before Winter Break, but with some Festive Fun Days planned by our Intermediate Leadership Team. There is nothing like a good “theme day” to get us in the holiday spirit.

Monday December 18: Winter Wonderland Day

-Mother nature may not be cooperating, but that won’t stop us. Come dressed in your favourite Winter Theme clothing or as a winter character like snowman or reindeer.

Tuesday December 19: Festive Winter Hat Day

-Wear a festive hat, tuque ect. Feel free to get creative!

Wednesday December 20: Winter/Holiday Sweater or Hoodie Day

-Find your coziest sweater… dress it up or dress it down. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Thursday December 21: Candy Cane Day

-Stripes, Stripes and more stripes. Wear stripes of all colours.

Friday December 22: Comfy Cozy and or Pyjama Day

-Sport your most comfortable “cozies” for the final day before the break.

SNOWY/WET WEATHER

Please remind students to make good choices regarding playing in the snowy/wet conditions. We have had many children come in requiring a call home for new clothes. Splash pants, snow pants and or having a change of clothing at school is a good idea, to avoid unnecessary calls home.

PIZZA

In order to limit waste on Pizza days, grade 7 and 8 students will have the opportunity to purchase  leftover pizza for $2.50 once it has been handed out. The amount of pizza will vary week to week so please do not count on this as your child’s meal.  The additional funds will be used to offset the cost of grade 8 year end activities.

KISS N’ RIDE

Thank  you for using the kiss n’ ride to drop off your children in the morning.  In order to keep the cars moving please have your child fully dressed and ready to exit the vehicle as you pull up.  Getting out of the car to put on coats and hats slows down the others, as the loop gets congested.  If you need to help your children with coats, mittens etc. Please feel free to pull into a parking spot.

LOST AND FOUND

Remind students to look through the items one last time before they are donated over the holidays.

Have a great week,

Mme Hare
