From the Principal Desk- February 26th

Posted March 1, 2024

Hello Arbour Vista Families,

We hope that you all enjoyed an extra long weekend and were able to enjoy your Family Day. Please carefully read the information below, as there is some important information.

City of Guelph

Please be aware that the City of Guelph regularly conducts studies  at crossing locations to ensure they are meeting the needs of specific communities. We have been asked to advise the community that studies will be ongoing throughout the

school year and on occasion, a student may be asked to confirm their grade. Guards will always be dressed in a jacket or vest that has the City of Guelph logo.

Guelph Public Health

This is a reminder for parents/guardians of students with incomplete immunization records.  March 1 by 4pm is the deadline for complete immunization records to be submitted to avoid suspension. You can book an appointment at a WDGPH office or visit wdgpublichealth.ca for specific clinic dates and times.

It is important to note that students with incomplete records will be suspended on March 6, 2024 until their records are complete and on file with WDGPH. This is the day before our school-wide Dance-a-thon.

Professor Jamz EAVDanceAThon_Black_Flyer_V2_MaySupport

The School Council has organized a fun and engaging Dance-a-thon for all students, through Professor Jamz. The Dance-a-thon will take place March 7th. Pledge envelopes were sent home earlier this week following our “kick-off” assembly.  Monies raised will go to support The Arts in various ways.

Grade 8 End of Year Trip

If you have a child in Grade 8, important information regarding the end of year trip went home on Thursday afternoon and was posted on CashOnline. We want to ensure that all Gr 8 students have an opportunity to attend this trip. Please reach out to the main office if we can be of assistance.

Pink Shirt Day

February 28th is Pink Shirt Day, where we stand up against all forms of bullying. Staff, Students and community members are invited to wear pink and show their commitment to creating safe, positive and inclusive school environments. By wearing pink, we send a message of support and stand together against bullying, discrimination and hatred.

Participating is easy! You can wear pink in your hair, as a piece of clothing, as a cool accessory or can even create a pink background as your online profile. These are just a few ways you can show your support.

Have a great week!

Mme Hare
