Library Learning Commons News:
The Forest of Reading programs are up and running in the library learning commons! All students in Kindergarten to grade 2 are enjoying hearing Ms. Roberts read the 10 nominated Blue Spruce selections. Interested students in grade 3 – 5 are reading Silver Birch Express books, and grade 4 – 6 students are reading Silver Birch (either fiction or non-fiction). The Red Maple program is for students in grade 7 and 8.

Students who bring in the required permission form and read at least five of the ten nominated selections in their program are eligible to vote for their favourite. Students across Ontario vote, and the winners are announced in May.
Required books are also available from Orangeville’s public libraries and on OverDrive, accessible from UG2GO (students sign in with their Windows username and password).

We are very excited to announce that CMES will catch Olympic fever this upcoming February. Here is a brief overview:
Starting February 9th:
– Olympic quotes during morning announcements as well daily Olympic updates
February 9th at 11am:
– Show your Canadian Spirit spirit day
-CMES Opening Ceremonies in the gym
February 23rd at 110pm:
-CMES Olympics K-8 outdoors (with a station or two inside for warming)
Our intent is to draw strong correlations with our Character education, the spirit of the games, and the character traits needed to be a successful athlete and a great CMES student.
