Public Health Information Regarding Flu- PLEASE READ

Posted February 9, 2018

Dear parents/guardians,

We wanted to share with you information from Public Health regarding cases of influenza in Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin.

Public Health has informed the school board that influenza is circulating in the communities of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph. They have also informed us that this is a community-wide concern and is not specific to any school.

Public Health officials have asked that everyone in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph communities get their flu vaccination, if they have not done so already. To help facilitate this, they are adding extended clinic hours this weekend.  If your child is sick, please keep them home until they are well enough to attend school.

Please read the attached media release from Public Health about flu in the community and information on getting vaccinated.

If you have questions and the flu and vaccinations, please contact Public Health at 1-800-265-7293 or (519) 822-2715 ext. 4752.

The safety of our students and staff is always our primary concern. If you have any questions for me, please don’t hesitate to call the school.

Sincerely,

Ms. Lagundzija-deFreitas

Principal, CMES
