April 8th Weekly Update

Posted April 9, 2019

Hi Eramosa Families!

-School Council will meet on Tuesday April 9th at 7pm in the library.

This Wednesday, April 10th students and staff across the province and beyond are encouraged to wear pink and stand up to bullying and support diversity! Please wear something pink on this day. We will be having a special assembly to kick off the day all about COURAGE which is is the first word in our new Eramosa Eagles C.A.R.E. message!

– Congratulations to all students who represented our school so well at the UGDSB Skills Canada competition. We are proud of your efforts! Good luck to all Chess Team members at the tournament on Thursday.

– The school is in need of a person who would be willing to be a fill in lunch supervisor. This role helps students during the lunch hour both during the eating portion inside and outside for play. Please call the school office if interested for more information. Thanks!

– LUNCHBOX Orders! To be able to order milk and food orders all purchases must be done through https://www.lunchboxorders.net/eng/login.aspx This is the only way to make orders for students at the school. We have had a rise in students coming to school on pizza days with money hoping to buy extra pizza; we are unable to ensure that there will be enough pizza and encourage parents to make sure their child(ren) have enough food for the day to avoid not having a lunch.

Also, parents please be sure to double check that you have ordered pizza for Wednesday on weeks with PA days or holidays as the Friday there is no school.  Thank you

-Save the Date! Our junior students have been busy working on play performances in drama class. This year, our students are not only the cast and crew, but they also wrote their own plays.

Dress rehearsals will be on May 6th and 7th. Our performance day will be the morning of May 8th. Students are encouraged to make every attempt to be present that day, and parents and guardians are more than welcome to attend.

-We are really lucky to have lots of outdoor spaces to play in during recess, this means sometimes students get wet from mud and puddles. We always section off areas that are too muddy/wet to play in but quite often students still get wet incidentally from their creative play. Please pack an extra pair or two of pants, mitts, warm socks and other items your child(ren) may need to stay warm and dry throughout the day. Thanks!
