SOME UPDATES

Posted November 9, 2020

Hello everyone;

Report Cards

The School Year is progressing very quickly!  Report Cards will be sent home next week, on Thursday, November 19.

In addition, you will have an opportunity to meet with staff regarding progress and areas in need for assistance.  Given the restrictions this year, the meetings will be virtual; either by telephone or via Google Meet.  Many of the interviews will be held on the evening of November 26th and during the PA Day; November 27th.   I also know that some staff will be in touch during other times in order to have chat with you.  Information about this will follow.

Remembrance Day

This coming Wednesday, the school will participate in a socially distanced Remembrance Day service outside, weather permitting.  We have been fortunate to have borrowed a sound system from the Board and look forward to this opportunity to gather as a whole school to mark this important day.

Given the restrictions this year, poppies were not delivered to the school.  However, many classes have created their own and we have also been able to copy some for students.  We encourage you do donate locally where you see them available.  In addition, to support the poppy campaign, go to https://legion.ca/donations .

Indoor Shoes

Believe it or not, there will be colder, wetter days ahead.  We do encourage you to send indoor shoes to school so that children will not be required to wear wet shoes or boots in class.  Staff have set up processes to allow them to ensure children are able to retrieve footwear safely.

Bus Times

The process has worked well.  Please do remember to walk your child from your vehicle across the lot, especially if there are buses and other cars and trucks in it.  We want your children to be safe.  Please walk around the back of the line of buses.  Sight lines are such that drivers cannot see people if they cut between buses.  Again, this is purely about safety.

Drop-off and Pick-up

Thank you for wearing masks when you drop off or retrieve your children.  To date there have been no COVID-19 cases and we would like that record to be maintained.

If you need to pick up your child throughout the day for an appointment or if he or she won’t be taking the bus home, please phone Mrs. Kent (519-856-9526). She will make sure your child is waiting

for you at the foyer.

Thanks!
