Travelling? Some Things to Consider…

Posted November 18, 2021

Dear families;

This is an important message about travelling out of the country (to the United States, for instance). This is a response to a few queries by folks who were thinking of going away during the next period of time. I apologize in advance for the many links.
Please remember to continue the daily COVID screening on the school website (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/).
If you have questions, please contact Public Health at 1-800-265-7293.
If you qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller, your unvaccinated children must follow specific requirements when you return to or enter Canada. This applies to unvaccinated children under 12 years of age who are accompanying a parent, step-parent, guardian or tutor who qualified as a fully vaccinated traveller when they entered Canada.
Unvaccinated children under 12 must complete pre-entry, arrival and Day-8 test unless you have evidence that the child had a positive COVID-19 test taken 14 to 180 days prior to arrival in Canada or the child is under 5 years of age.
The following site provides good travel information: https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/flying-canada-checklist/covid-19-testing-travellers-coming-into-canada.  Our local Public Health site also provides further information about this. The following link gives more information: https://wdgpublichealth.ca/your-health/covid-19-information-public/current-public-health-measures-and-restrictions/travel.
For the next 14 days, the children must also not attend school, camp or daycare.
Thanks for helping to keep our community safe!

Best regards,

Paul Tribe, Principal
